Aftosa Wax Resist has a shelf life of two - three years. Always keep the lid tight on the original container. If used improperly Aftosa Wax Resist can become contaminated. If the wax has a strong sour odor it is contaminated. The wax will FREEZE in cold climates and will not resist effectively. If frozen, it will get lumpy and separate.

Fire cone 06 to cone 10. If fired higher, the black will fade and then disappear altogether at Cone 10. Thinning is not recommended. Allow to dry for at least two hours before firing or applying a second coat. To darken the line from gray to black use a clear overglaze. Aftosa wax can be thinned with water.
